Discussion #1, Better Living Through Electricity: Los Angeles, 1940-1990

Monday, April 1, 2013

Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens

1151 Oxford Road

San Marino, CA 91108

(626) 405-2100

In a moderated discussion inspired by the Form and Landscape online exhibition, exhibition curators along with other expert panelists will present their findings from the Edison Archive and explore the ubiquitous distribution of electricity in industrial, commercial, infrastructural and residential sites throughout greater Los Angeles in the second half of the 20th century.  Richly illustrated with Archive images as well as some new photography, these talks promise surprising insights into our city’s history.  Free and open to the public.  Friends Hall, The Huntington.
