The University has drawn from its own rich archives for this first in-depth study of partners Whitney R. Smith and Wayne R. Williams.  Working in the wake of the first generation of L.A. avant-garde architects during the heady postwar building boom, the firm’s pragmatic modernism and careful site planning resulted in unique integrations of landscape and building.
