The LA Phil is reinterpreting three Mozart operas over three years to celebrate the esteemed collaboration of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lorenzo da Ponte, composer and librettist, respectively, of Don GiovanniThe Marriage of Figaro, and Così fan tutte.  In the spirit of this collaboration, the set designs of each will be created by three of the most influential architects of our time (Frank Gehry for Don Giovanni, Jean Nouvel for The Marriage of Figaro, and Dame Zaha Hadid for Cosi fan tutte). In conjunction with Modern Architecture in L.A., the Phil will host a discussion within Jean Nouvel’s set for The Marriage of Figaro, exploring Nouvel’s project, its relationship to Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the unique nature of this collaborative, interdisciplinary series.
